Two coins, one free route, one exit: the rulebook read across nine sites

No purchase necessary: the free route into the prize coin

A sweepstakes needs a way in that costs nothing. That is why every rulebook here prints one, and why terms such as Funrize’s Terms of Use 2.0 (3 June 2026, clause 2.1) say there is no chance to win a prize “with the exception of ‘no purchase necessary’ promotional contests or giveaways”.

Chumba’s free route changed in 2026. Sweeps Rules 21.0 (30 December 2025) still printed a postal address and a Postal Request Code. Version 26.0 (13 July 2026) has none. It describes an online entry request instead: you reveal a template in the app, handwrite it on a blank 4”×6” card, photograph it, and pass a human check and a selfie check if asked. Each valid request is worth 5 SC.

The arithmetic is ours: 20 requests reach Chumba’s 100 SC cash minimum, while 34 reach High 5’s 100 SC cash minimum at 3 SC each. The other free sources are the Daily Bonus (once per 24 hours; amount not printed), giveaways on Chumba’s Facebook page, and SC attached to marked Gold Coin packs (SR 26.0, 3.2(a)–(c)). Playthrough: what a coin must do before it counts

Playthrough is the number of times a coin must be wagered before it becomes redeemable. Chumba’s clause 4.6 sets it at once, and it reserves the right to require more, “not exceeding 20”.

A 1× rule with a 20× ceiling is not the same promise as a flat 1×. The scorecard treats the printed figure as the value and records the ceiling beside it, as set out under how we score.

Redemption: minimums, routes and stated times

Redemption turns eligible prize coins into cash or a gift card. Chumba’s floor is 100 SC, equal to US$100 (SR 26.0, 6.5). Cash goes back in US dollars to the account or wallet you paid from, and gift cards go to the account email (6.3, 6.4). The bank leg “may take up to ten (10) business days” (T&C 27.0, 8.16), with one request per 24 hours (8.15).

Verification before the money moves

Chumba requires a verified account before you can redeem any prize. The help pages list a selfie, a photo ID and proof of address no older than six months. Redemptions stay pending until checks are complete (T&C 27.0, 9.2). A cumulative or single redemption above US$2,000 brings enhanced checks on source of funds (9.3), and documents are due within 30 days of the first request (9.4).

• High 5: verification “may be required each time” you redeem (SR 43.0, 9.1), and a Social Security number is required at US$2,000 or more per request or calendar year (8.7).
• WOW Vegas: a liveness selfie, photo ID and proof of address no older than three months before any redemption (help article updated 5 May 2026).
• Stake.us: “No Prize can be redeemed without completing the identification process” (T&C 18.0, 13.1(e)).
• Fortune Wins: verification may take up to one month after all documents arrive (SR 4.7, 6.1).
• Modo.us: photo ID, a biometric face scan, proof of address and SSN validation, with the SSN required once redemptions pass US$600.

Expiry and dormancy: how a balance runs out

Unused prize coins do not last forever. Chumba’s Sweeps Coins expire 60 days after your last log-on (T&C 27.0, 8.22). An account with no log-in for more than 12 consecutive months counts as inactive. Closing it forfeits Gold Coins, Sweeps Coins and unredeemed prizes (5.13).

Rules also change with new document versions. The dated record of those edits, newest first, is under sweepstakes rule changes. Where each site may be played is decided by each operator’s own territory list, collected on sites like Chumba by state.

A short glossary

• Gold Coins (GC): the play coin. They are bought, have no monetary value, and are never redeemable. High 5 calls them Game Coins and WOW Vegas calls them WOW Coins.
• Sweeps Coins (SC): the prize coin. They cannot be bought and are redeemable once played through. Stake.us calls them Stake Cash and Spree calls them Spree Coins.
• AMOE: alternative method of entry, the free route. It works by post at most sites and through an online request at Chumba since 2026.
• Playthrough: how many times a coin must be played before it is eligible for redemption.
• Redemption minimum: the smallest eligible balance an operator will process.
• Promotional Play and Standard Play: Chumba’s names for play with SC and play with GC.
• Prizeout: the gift-card route Chumba names on its redemption-options page.
• Dormant or inactive: the point at which an unused balance or account lapses under the terms.
